Mazyck-Wraggborough runs along the Cooper River side of the upper middle peninsula, north of Calhoun and east of Meeting, wrapped around Wragg Square and Wragg Mall. It is one of the quieter residential pockets downtown and it sits immediately next to the Gaillard Center, the aquarium and the Cooper River waterfront.
Housing here is mostly nineteenth century, with single houses, double houses and cottages on small lots, plus some twentieth century infill and a few converted buildings. Streets like Judith, Charlotte and Elizabeth hold the most intact runs.
Much of the area sits inside the Old and Historic District, so exterior work goes through review. Proximity to the Cooper also means elevation, flood zone and insurance vary noticeably across a short distance, and they are worth pulling early.
